Integral of a max function

#1

Post by Tolaso J Kos »

Let $f(x)=e^{-x} + \sum \limits_{n=2}^{\infty} \max\{0, n - n^4|x - n|\}$. Evaluate the integral:

$$\mathcal{J}=\int_1^\infty f(x) \, {\rm d}x$$
Imagination is much more important than knowledge.
