Prove that the number
$$\mathcal{A}= \sqrt{1001^2+1}+\sqrt{1002^2+1}+\cdots+ \sqrt{2000^2+1}$$
is irrational.
$$\mathcal{A}= \sqrt{1001^2+1}+\sqrt{1002^2+1}+\cdots+ \sqrt{2000^2+1}$$
is irrational.
